6th COURSE. DIDACTIC UNIT 2. FOOD. THE ORIGIN OF FOOD

READ THESE TEXTS ON THE ORIGINS OF SOME TRADITIONAL FOOD AND DRINKS Horchata is a traditional drink in some parts of Spain. It looks like a vanilla milkshake, but it isn´t made with milk – it´s made with tiger nuts! They are pulses that grow underground. To make horchata, you leave the tiger nuts in water for a day. Then you squeeze the juice out of them. You can add sugar, lemon, and cinnamon. Horchata is also the name of a drink in Mexico, but it tastes very different. It´s made with rice! Custard is a traditional British desert. It´s a creamy pudding made with eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla. To make custard, you mix all the ingredients and then cook them very slowly.  You can eat the custard warm or cold. Some British people like to put custard on other desserts like fruit pies. Custard is also used to make fruit trifle. Trifle is a traditional British dessert made with cake, custard, fruit, and jelly. Jelly is fruit gelatine. Most people also put lots of cream o

Do you like omelettes? Do you like cheese? Therefore try this delicious cheese omelette at home!!!!. Try to cook it yourself! But first watch the video and reorder the parts of the process. Check your answers before getting into the kitchen!!!!!. A.Pop the egg and pepper into the pan. B.Add some cheese when it starts to wobble. C.Add some black pepper D. Whisker it together. Did you know that Irish coffee is one of the most famous drinks from Ireland? Do you know what ingredients are used in its making? How do they combine? Watch this video  for info and then reorder the parts of the process.  A. Mix the ground coffee with hot water B. Put some cream on top of the coffe and decorate with coffee beans. C.
